Our lives are longer but the days seem shorter - and weight / diet related ailments from Type 2 diabetes to high blood pressure and cholesterol are epidemic. The number one reason for doctor’s visits? Fatigue. Is it any wonder we have a so-called health care crisis! How can you and I pull away from this? A simple, low cost program of complex carbohydrates and lean protein, with a little bit of exercise. Given our lifestyles the best way to achieve this is with a mix of meal replacement shakes, nutritional supplements, healthy meals and snacks. And the occasional walk around the block. Supplements are not a remedy; cannot cure or treat any disease or ailment - I simply don’t understand where this fiction comes from. They “supplement” and round out your diet. In conjunction with a balanced health program you can find a major change in your entire body from weight, blood pressure, cholesterol, erectile dysfunction, energy - the list goes on. Supplements are classified as food, not drugs. You eat them just you would a carrot. Supplements are not drugs - they do not claim to cure or treat - by law they cannot. One of the FDAs mission is to “approve” drugs for sale - it does not approve food within the legal use of the word. In real life does the word apply to supplements and other food the way regular people use it - yes. The laws that govern food are the mega dosing law and labeling law.
The Mega Dosing law prohibits a manufacturer from putting too much of any one ingredient in a product. It is complemented by Labeling laws - so if a person has a condition that would prevent them from using the product, this must be indicated on the label. Within each of these laws are standards and definitions that provide practical instructions for manufacturer compliance whether it’s broccoli or herbal tea.

Quality Although Supplements are food, just like any other product there are major variations in quality. Whether it’s leather, furniture or hot house tomato vs. home vine grown - there are quality differences. Most of the supplements you buy at grocery stores are consumer grade products and what you see on the label is not always what’s in the container - when it says 100% — it can have as little as 30+% in that one tablet as still meet the requirement as long it meets other requirements. This is similar to other food grading systems - juice vs drink, cheese, cheese food, processed cheese, etc. The next big quality level is pharmaceutical grade or a quality level that says 98% of it says on the label is in each tablet. The Spring fair of Sevilla

Spain is known for it?s sun, sea and fiestas. The Semana Santa is throughout the whole of Spain one of the most important festival weeks. You can visit festivals and other types of parties everywhere. But, did you know that shortly after Samana Santa their is another great festival to visit in the region Andalucia, in the city Seville.

The Feria de Abril, or April springtime fair, took place for the first time in 1846 as a market, lasts a week and the whole festival is a big celebration of Andalucian culture. The dates vary a lot, it usually takes place around 2 weeks after Semana Santa but the planned dates up to 2020 are anywhere in between half April and half May. If you want to visit the festival it is wise to confirm the dates with the Spanish tourism board before. Don?t forget to book your appartement in Sevilla early because an enourmous amount of locals and visitors alike visit the city in this week!

The Feria takes place in ?Reial de la Feria? a set up that is build right outside the center just for this week and that forms a city on its own. De Casetas, as the tents are called, have bright colored stripes on them and paper decoration lights attached to them which makes this little city very festive. The most popular aspect of the festival week takes place inside these tents, the flamenco dancing. Women wear mangificent colored dresses that are often made especially for this week and can cost thousands of euros. Some of the tents are open for everyone, other only on invitation, but in all thents the loud flamenco music sounds and there is a lot of alcohol consumed, this takes place the whole week.

During the day there is an equestrian parade, this also takes place every day of the week. During this parade the Sevillian women ride around on horses or in beautifully decorated carriages in full flamenco outfit while accompanied by men in Andalusian wear; a short jacket and a big hat, called a bolero. The horses in this parade are magnificent as well, all (andalucian) horses of good blood.

The last event that draws a lot of people is the bullfighting. Although more and more people turn their back towards this tradition it is still an important part of Spanish culture and the best bullfighters from the country go inside the ring in the afternoons.

However, it is important to note that these exercises alone will not prepare you for serious cycling. Cycling requires that your muscles learn to move in different waysthan other activities. The Golden Tower

One of the most popular attractions in Seville is the Torre de Oro, which has 3 levels and is located at the Guadalquivir river’s edge and once was part of Seville’s wall which defended the Alc?zar (Fortress). Despite its long history, I couldn’t help but ask myself: Is it really a monument worthy of being visited?

I decided to find out during my visit to the city; the first thing I found out is that the Tower is in a very good state and barely four years have passed since it was last renovated.
Its straight shapes and its huge size take you straight away to an older Seville and it isn’t difficult to imagine that the area which parks, avenues and apartamentos en Sevilla now cover was once full of walls and fortifications.

This golden tower literally has a golden glaze which I thought was caused by tiles. However, once I was there, I found out that the glaze was caused by a mixture of mortar, lime and pressed straw.
It was built in 1220 and was joined to the silver tower, by a wall, which had then disappeared. This is one of the last remains of the military fortification which was so important for the city.
However, the tower didn’t always have a military use, because it was made into a chapel and also served as a prison for some years.
Nowadays, the tower is home to Seville’s naval museum, where you can admire objects such as: fossilised sea remains, nautical art mechanisms, compasses, ships’ figureheads, pictures and recordings which deal with topics to do with the sea, old letters written at sea, historical documents and more.

This huge monument is part of the city’s identity and a visit to Seville wouldn’t be complete without visiting this peculiar tower.
